Spanning 13.4 square kilometres, Palm Jebel Ali is currently being developed by Nakheel, a world-leading Dubai-based real estate master developer

Dubai-based master developer Nakheel has awarded contracts for infrastructure construction at Palm Jebel Ali, the company said in an emailed statement on Sunday.

The contract for a public access road from Sheikh Zayed Road to Palm Jebel Ali, and a construction road serving the Palm’s central area, went to DBB Contracting LLC. “When completed, the new public access road will offer a beautifully landscaped and convenient path, spanning nearly 6 kilometres, leading directly on to Palm Jebel Ali,” the statement said.

DBB Contracting and Dutco Construction are UAE-based civil and marine contractors.

Khansaheb Civil Engineering LLC, subsidiary of Khansaheb Group, secured the contract for roadway and lighting enhancements to Al Hesah Street at Dubai Waterfront, connecting to Palm Jebel Ali.

The island spans 13.4 kilometres, with 10.5 million square metres of development, 16 fronds, 110 kilometres of coastline and 91 kilometres of beachfront.

It will house approximately 35,000 families, contributing to Dubai’s projected 5.8 million resident increase by 2040.
