According to the latest rankings from US News & World Report, the United Arab Emirates now stands as the world’s most economically stable nation, ranking first among 89 countries.

This impressive achievement highlights the UAE’s success over traditionally strong economies, attributed to its low manufacturing costs, favorable tax policies, streamlined bureaucracy, minimal corruption, and transparent governance.

Following the UAE in the rankings are Germany, Canada, Japan, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Saudi Arabia, each of which has shown marked improvements across several economic metrics.

In a celebratory tweet, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, remarked, “The UAE ranks first in the world for economic stability, according to U.S. News. This top classification reflects our dedication to maintaining low manufacturing costs, creating a favorable tax environment, minimizing bureaucracy, ensuring zero corruption, and promoting transparency in government.”

These rankings are part of the US News Best Countries report, now in its ninth edition, developed in collaboration with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and global marketing firm WPP.

In addition to assessing economic performance, these rankings capture international perceptions of each country. Ten thematic subrankings, including categories like Adventure, Open for Business, and Quality of Life, shaped the evaluation. The ‘Open for Business’ subranking, which emphasizes aspects such as tax rates and government transparency—key to attracting foreign investment and business—awarded the UAE the highest score for economic stability.

This year’s methodology surveyed nearly 17,000 individuals globally, including business leaders, the general public, and informed elites, assessing 73 attributes crucial to a nation’s success, from business friendliness to technological readiness.
